NEW YORK (CNN/Money) -
Nearly a year after settling an accusation of rape, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant is once again back on the endorsement circuit, according to a report Friday.
A close up of Bryant's face appears front and center in a new ad for Nike in this week's issue of Sports Illustrated, the New York Post reported.
Nike (Research) could not immediately be reached for comment.
The report said that at the time of Bryant's trial, some experts said he would never again appear in advertisements, whether he was found guilty or not.
Bryant was charged in July 2003 with sexual assault for an alleged attack on a hotel employee in Colorado. The charges were dropped the following summer after his accuser said she could not go through with the trial, during which a 206-page transcript that dealt with the accuser's sexual history was mistakenly sent to the news media.
Bryant settled a civil suit filed by the woman shortly after for an undisclosed sum.
