NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Treasury prices stayed flat Monday as the government prepared to auction $104 billion in bonds this week.
What prices are doing: The benchmark 10-year note ticked up 1/32 to 104-9/32 and its yield was 3.00%, the same as the yield late Friday. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
The 30-year bond was flat at 106-5/32 and its yield was 4.02%. The 2-year note held at 100-2/32 and yielded 0.60%.
On Friday, Treasurys slipped after regulators said most of Europe's major banks passed stress tests, easing worries about the euro zone economy.
What's moving the market: Bond prices drifted throughout the day, barely reacting to a report that showed U.S. home sales soared almost 24% in June from a record low the previous month.
Because Treasurys are backed by the U.S. government, they are viewed as low-risk investments and tend to rise on downbeat economic data.
But investors seemed to pause at the start of a heavy auction week. The sales start Tuesday, with a $38 billion offering of two-year notes. Wednesday brings $37 billion in five-year notes, while Thursday closes the week's auctions with $29 billion in seven-year notes.
