By Aaron Smith, staff writer

NEW YORK ( -- Wondering how the government is going to save the job market? Just ask The job-hunting website is teaming up with the White House to solicit questions on the topic from the general public.

Through its Facebook page, is asking people to submit their questions about the economy. The top five questions will be selected on Nov. 14, with the White House responding to them through videotaped statements.

"I think that the White House and Monster share a common goal: To provide job keepers with a unique voice in a debate over the recovery," said spokesman Matt Henson.

On Monday, posted the following statement: "What would you like to know about the Obama administration's recovery efforts, and their effect on your community? Do you have ideas or insights you'd like to ask about? Here is your chance. The White House will answer a sample of questions, submitted by Monster job seekers and selected by Monster, about the economic recovery."

Questions from Monday morning respondents included what the Obama administration will do to improve the job market for "older and disabled Americans." Questions also asked the administration to prevent companies from exporting jobs overseas.

"What we're seeing is that people are moving beyond talking about the problem," Henson said. "They're looking to where we can find the solutions." To top of page
