Before joining Business 2.0, Thomas was a writer for Red Herring and an editor at Time Digital. His experience includes stints at Mother Jones, Suck.com, and Wired magazine. Thomas is a 1994 graduate of the University of Chicago.

Oliver Ryan
Oliver Ryan joined FORTUNE in June 2004 as a general assignment reporter. He has written stories for the Investing and First sections of the magazine. Prior to joining FORTUNE, Ryan worked for Knight Ridder Digital in San José in a various capacities, most recently as director of business and technology programming, responsible for all technology and business content across Knight Ridders network of local newspaper websites. Before that he was general manager of SiliconValley.com, a Knight Ridder website; and manager of Knight Ridder New Media. Before that, he worked at Wave Systems Corp., a technology start-up focused on secure e-commerce. He was a founding board member of Bay Area Performing Arts. Ryan has a M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, an M.B.A. from Harvard University, and a B.A. in physics from Wesleyan. He lives in Manhattan.
