Power: 3.4-liter V6 with six-speed automatic transmission
Fuel economy: 20 mpg overall with all-wheel-drive (EPA estimate)
The MKX features "adaptive headlights." That means the headlights turn with the steering wheel so as you round a dark curve there's more light on the road and less on the guardrails and trees.
It's a feature that sounds like it should be useful. To be honest, I've never noticed the difference.
The MKX does not provide automatic daytime running lights, as do many other cars these days. Some people may not like driving around with their headlights on during the day, but it has been proven to reduce crashes.
In back, the MKX features an attractive array of hi-tech looking LED taillights, which actually offer a safety benefit over regular bulbs. LED's light up more quickly, giving the driver behind you an extra fraction of a second to react. At highway speeds that can be enough to prevent a rear-end collision.
