Grade: B -
Water pressure/square inch: 1,600
Cleaning power: About on par with Husky (and similarly equipped with a turbo lance/nozzle). It took patience to remove deeper stains, but it did the job.
What's to like: The power cord is the easiest to plug in of all tested models. A breeze to move, thanks to a rubber handle.
What's not to like: Very difficult to disconnect the nozzles. And there's only one detergent tank - two is better for certain tasks (say, cleaning and waxing a car).
Bottom line: A sturdy machine with plenty of pressure. But much too hard to disconnect pieces.
CORRECTION: This story originally ran in the April 2007 issue of Money Magazine and rated five power washers. The Karcher model is not included in this online version because the model tested is no longer being made.
