Hunter got certified to work on laserdiscs in 1979 when GM was the biggest buyer of the format. (The auto giant used them to play sales demonstrations in their dealerships.)
Five years ago, he shifted the focus of his one-man repair operation solely to laserdiscs, joking that he managed to corner the market since all the other aficionados have either retired or died.
Lucky for him, his customers won't give up the quintessential 1980s technology. Some have laserdisc collections numbering in the thousands that would otherwise be worthless.
