The past eleven months have been halcyon ones for BMW, which passed Lexus and was leading Mercedes in the race for luxury sales supremacy. The 2013 model year promises to be another milestone year as BMW launches the sixth generation of the 3-series that accounts for more than half its sales in the U.S. Powered by a new generation of four-cylinder engines with fuel-saving technology, the 3 will possess features trickled down from more expensive models like line-departure warning, night vision, and adaptive cruise control.
