Donation: $45.1 million to The Ellison Medical Foundation
Oracle CEO Larry Ellison founded the Ellison Medical Foundation back in 1997. It's a non-profit that supports biomedical research on age-related diseases and disabilities.
Ellison gave his namesake foundation more than $45 million last year. EMF gives grants to U.S. universities and labs, and its mission statement says it "particularly wishes to stimulate new, creative research that might not be funded by traditional sources or that is often under-funded."
