Rare Catholic Monstrance
Rare Catholic Monstrance

Items like this "Antique Baroque Monstrance" are usually reserved for stately Italian churches and glittering museums; they're used to hold the consecrated Eucharistic host during religious services. If you have such a need -- or if you just like the "four very nice Persian Turquoise gems and 13 garnets of various size" -- you can score this relic for a cool $25,000. Shipping's a steal at $4.49.

The monstrance, made of silver under gold plating, was crafted sometime between 1895 and 1921. The seller is France-based Frederick Pustet Co., which was "a book publishing company that would have relics such as this made for them to give and or sell to the churches."
