Every social-media marketer fears mixing up accounts and tweeting a personal message through the corporate megaphone. KitchenAid's tweeter committed that cardinal sin during the first presidential debate, when this blast went out to the appliance maker's 25,000 followers: "Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! 'She died 3 days b4 he became president.'"
KitchenAid deleted the tweet just eight minutes later and apologized. Still, the dispatch will live forever in the fast-growing Twitter Hall of Shame, alongside infamous oopsies like Kenneth Cole's tasteless #Cairo joke and Chrysler's cuss-out of Detroit drivers. -- Stacy Cowley
