Located off the coast of Sicily and North Africa, Cospicua, originally known as Bormla, is famous for a dockyard that was built by the English in 1841. The dock, which takes up most of the shoreline, is currently being turned into a marina.

Residents of Cospicua also have plenty of historic sites to visit, such as the Church of St Teresa and the Bir Mula Heritage Museum.
