Office Action

(FORTUNE Magazine) – If you idolize Jack Welch more than G.I. Joe, there's finally a toy for you. This December, Happy Worker, a Toronto-based toy company, launched two new action figures: MoneyMan and BossMan. The dolls, which sell for around $16 each, are fully posable, buff, and ready to take on the corporate world. "There are a lot of strange superheroes out there with weird radioactive skills, like Spiderman," says Kris Shantz, Happy Worker's co-founder. "We thought it was about time to celebrate everyday heroes."

Uh-huh. Moneyman, who resembles your typical Ernst & Young accountant, has superpowers that include "unearthly financial dexterity," and he comes with a bundle of cash and a calculator that clicks to his belt. Boss-in-a-box is armed with a megaphone, an annual report, and happy and angry face masks.

So where exactly does that hero part come in? "With all the corporate malfeasance, these are dark heroes," admits Shantz. "But we're trying to give some fun to the financial types that have been the butt of so many jokes." Alas, not even a superhuman amount of financial dexterity can stop those jokes. -- Julia Boorstin
