(MONEY Magazine) – BEDDING DOWN Seasons change. So do the latest fabric styles and colors deemed in vogue for your bedroom. Hence the January white sale, when retailers move last year's bedding to make way for this year's looks. But because many stores and linens departments ordered far fewer goods in 2003 than in years past, this year's January markdowns may be mostly in the 25% to 35% range. This Frette "Villa Fontana" duvet, made in Italy of extra-supple, 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton, retails for $1,250; Bluefly.com has limited supplies for $499.
