(MONEY Magazine) – NO SNOW JOB You can schuss your way into some serious ski bargains in January, when resorts are eager to fill their hills between the December holidays and President's Day weekend.

--From JAN. 4 THROUGH FEB. 13, children under 12 fly free (when accompanied by an adult) to 13 ski destinations in Colorado and California on United and American airlines. (At Steamboat and Northstar-at-Tahoe, kids also ski free.) For spring skiers, the under-12-flies-free deal reopens on American from MARCH 28 TO APRIL 23 to seven Colorado and California mountains. --Have a babysitter? Stein Eriksen Lodge (800-453-1302; steinlodge.com) at posh Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah offers a $202-per-person package (double occupancy) that includes lodging, lift tickets, breakfast and taxes from Jan. 4 through Jan. 14. A two-night minimum stay is required. From JAN. 25 THROUGH FEB. 11, the price rises to $421 a night, which is still 37% off the regular room rate.
