1986 Dodge Shelby Omni GLH-S

Two names that would not seem to go together well: Omni and Shelby. The Dodge Omni was a car that virtually defined the term "econo-box." It was small, boxy and boring. Shelby means Carroll Shelby, the master of cramming big power into small packages. He created the Shelby Cobra racer and Shelby Mustangs.

Dodge made turbocharged GLH versions of the Omni starting in 1984. They were famous for outrunning Mustangs and Corvettes of their day. The 175-horsepower Shelby-badged version was produced in 1986 only. Just 500 were built. (The car shown here is an Omni GLH, but not a Shelby.)
