OCI NV is a holding company, which engages production and distribution of natural gas-based fertilizers and industrial chemicals through its subsidiaries. It operates through the following business segments: Methanol U.S., Methanol Europe, Nitrogen U.S., Nitrogen Europe, Fertiglobe, and Other. The Methanol U.S. segment includes operations of OCI Beaumont, Natgasoline LLC, and the trading entities. The Methanol Europe segment relates to the BioMCN, located at Delfzijl in the Netherlands, OCI Fuels Ltd., OCI Fuels BV, and OCI Methanol Marketing BV. The Nitrogen U.S. segment handles Iowa Fertilizer Co., a wholly owned nitrogen fertilizer complex, as well as the trading entity, N-7. The Nitrogen Europe segment covers OCI Nitrogen, an integrated nitrates fertilizer and melamine producer. The Fertiglobe segment is involved in the Middle East and North Africa nitrogen fertilizer platform. The Others segment focuses on all other entities in the group. The company was founded by Onsi Najib Sawiris in 1950 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
