NEW YORK (CNNfn) - If you can't offer your best employees a raise this fall, try rewarding them with a few extra days off with pay.

Paid holidays top the list of employee perks, according to personnel experts.

If possible, add an extra day off to a three-day holiday weekend, so it really feels like a vacation.

Consider closing down your business between Christmas and New Year's this year; it's a great way to boost morale.

For other days off, try to award extra days off only when someone has really gone the extra mile on a project, or landed a new account.

Use extra days off as an incentive for other employees to rev up their productivity and encourage creativity. Back to top
