(Business 2.0) – EverQuest gamers spend an estimated $40 million annually on digitized weapons and characters. But for years, Sony Online Entertainment, the game's publisher, has decried the practice. Having failed to beat the system, Sony will join it in late June, launching a site called Station Exchange. Sony will get a cut every time someone sells a virtual weapon, character, or coin. That could soon add up to $2.5 million in annual revenue.
