Suburban Propane Partners LP specializes in the distribution of propane, fuel oil and refined fuels, as well as the marketing of natural gas and electricity in deregulated markets. It operates in four business segments: Propane, Fuel Oil and Refined Fuels, and Natural Gas and Electricity, and Other. The Propane segment engages in the retail distribution of propane to residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers and, to a lesser extent, wholesale distribution to large industrial end users. The Fuel Oil and Refined Fuels segment markets and distributes fuel oil, kerosene, diesel fuel and gasoline to residential and commercial customers primarily in the northeast region of the U.S. The Natural Gas and Electricity segment markets natural gas and electricity through its Agway Energy Services LLC subsidiary in the deregulated markets of New York and Pennsylvania primarily to residential and small commercial customers. The Other segment sells, installs and services whole-house heating products, air cleaners, humidifiers, hearth products and space heaters to the customers of its propane, fuel oil, natural gas and electricity businesses. The company was founded by Mark Anton in 1928 and is headquartered in Whippany, NJ.
