Mrs. Fields to acquire Great American Cookie, will own 1,342 stores
|
NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Mrs. Fields' Original Cookies said Tuesday it is acquiring the Great American Cookie Co.
The companies did not disclose financial details of the acquisition. Atlanta-based Great American, which operates 323 retail outlets mainly in the Southeast and south-central states, generates about $110 million in revenue.
Mrs. Fields said its total revenues after the merger will be approximately $350 million. The acquisition would bring the total number of Mrs. Fields stores to 1,342.
Mrs. Fields said it will continue to operate Great American's dough facility in Atlanta, but it will move most of its corporate and administrative functions to Salt Lake City, where Mrs. Fields is based.
Mrs. Fields said it intends to operate the acquired stores under the Great American brand name.
The companies expect the merger to be completed next Monday.
