NEW YORK (CNNfn) - If your employees frequently have car trouble and can't seem to get to work on time, explore the possibility of buying them train, bus or subway passes.

Most mass transit agencies across the country offer special discounted rates for employers who subsidize commuters.

Providing affordable and reliable transportation will also boost employee morale and productivity. Getting everyone to work on time will improve customer service, reduces stress and may even be tax deductible.

Ask your accountant about it.
