Target's latest holiday shopping problem

Target has run into more holiday shopping trouble. The retailer confirmed on Tuesday that some customers are having problems using their Target gift cards at the cash register.

"We are aware that some Target gift cards were not fully activated and apologize for the inconvenience," said Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder to CNNMoney.

Snyder downplayed the number of cards affected as "less than .1% of the total sold during the holiday period," but declined to provide a tally of faulty cards.

She said the retailer will honor the problematic cards. Customers should bring the cards to the guest service desk at a Target store or call 800-544-2943.

This comes just after Target (TGT) revealed it was the victim of a massive credit card hack that breached 40 million customer accounts, and stole encrypted PINs.
