The Chinese restaurant chain P.F. Chang's may be the latest corporation to fall victim to a security breach, according to a news report.

P.F. Chang's is investigating claims that thousands of credit and debit cards were stolen from its restaurants earlier this year, according to Krebs on Security. The credit card data was then sold on rescator.so, a web site that's also linked to a security breach involving Target (TGT) credit cards.

"P.F. Chang's takes these matters very seriously and is currently investigating the situation, working with the authorities to learn more," said P.F. Chang's spokeswoman Anne Deanovic. "We will provide an update as soon as we have additional information."

"We are not aware of any data breach," said an employee who answered the phone of Centerbridge Partners, the investment firm that owns P.F. Chang's.

The card thefts reportedly occurred between March and May of his year.

P.F. Chang's has more than 200 locations in the U.S., in addition to international locations, and is based in Scottsdale, Ariz..

News of a possible theft at P.F. Chang's follows a massive security breach that occurred at Target (TGT)stores over the 2013 holiday shopping season, where credit card numbers and other personal information was stolen from up to 110 million customers.
