Kate Middleton to visit Downton Abbey's servants

Kate Middleton will visit the Downton Abbey cast and crew on March 12 in Ealing Studios in west London.

A true royal is about to visit the set of Downton Abbey.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, will visit the set of the popular British television show in London on March 12 to "to celebrate the success of the award-winning production," according to a press release from Buckingham Palace.

She'll get a taste of life "below stairs" when she watches the crew film a scene in the servants' quarters of the aristocratic Crawley family home.

After the filming, the Duchess will have an official photograph taken in the Servants Hall with cast members, writers and producers.

The popular English 1920s melodrama is currently filming its sixth season. The fifth season started showing in the U.S. in January.

The show is considered one of the U.K.'s most successful cultural exports and is broadcast around the world.

It remains the highest-rated drama in PBS history in the U.S. and has won numerous awards, including three Golden Globes and 11 Emmys.
