Multi-million dollar classic cars owned by Jerry Seinfeld are hitting the auction block this spring.

A portion of the comedian's extensive car collection will be offered at the Amelia Island Auction in Florida on March 11.

The auction house in charge of the sale did not say how many of Seinfeld's cars will be auctioned, but they represent about 10% of his collection, according to Gooding and Company spokesperson Tyler Gagnon.

"I've never bought a car as an investment," Seinfeld said in a statement. "I don't really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it's time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have."

He may not consider it an investment, but one of Seinfeld's most valuable cars, a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, is expected to sell for $5 million or $6 million.

The Porsche 550 has a storied racing history, and it's also the car that actor James Dean crashed and died in at the age of 24.

Seinfeld has owned his 550 Spyder for more than a decade, and it still has the original interior and bright blue paint job, said Gooding and Company car expert David Brynan.

The auction house highlighted two more of Seinfeld's Porsches that will join his 550 Spyder at auction.

One is a 1958 Carrera Speedster, which is expected to fetch at least $2 million. It's one of only 151 Carrera Speedsters ever built, and one of only 13 painted a unique green called Auratium.

The other is a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera. It was the first of 15 RSRs built specifically to compete in the International Race of Champions series in 1973 and 1974. Its estimated sale price is $1.2 million to $1.5 million.

Seinfeld is a Porsche fanatic, and the vast majority of the vehicles he's consigning are from the luxury German automaker, Gagnon said.

Seinfeld, best-known for his namesake sitcom that aired from 1989 to 1998, now hosts the online show "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."

The series started in 2012 and features Seinfeld cruising around with celebrity guests in a luxurious set of wheels. The likes of Tina Fey, Jon Stewart and President Obama, who took a spin in a 1963 Corvette Stingray, have appeared on the show.
