Everyone has to cut back
Obviously, this isn't just about saving gas, although Ferrai spokesman Lai did say that environmental concerns were part of what drove Ferrari to explore adding hybrid technology to the Italian sports car maker's line-up.
"We are part of the planet, too," he said.

Stricter emissions and fuel economy regulations also had something to do with it, though, he admitted. Even high-end luxury car manufacturers have to work to use less.
