Warning: Backseats seen in automaker-supplied photographs may be smaller than they appear. And these definitely are. Also, this photograph doesn't show you a normal-sized adult assuming the fetal position to get through that door opening.
Now, for the sort of money you'd spend on the Mercedes-Benz CLA you could get a very good roomy full-sized Chevrolet Impala or Hyundai Azera. And those are, seriously, no kidding at all, very good cars. They have nice interiors, they ride well and they drive nicely.
But maybe you still want a Mercedes for under $40,000. Here's my tip. Certified pre-owned. You can get something a little bigger with real back seats and better performance. Sure it's used but I've got answer for that, too.
