1920s: New York Central train

The New York Central Electric train, introduced by Lionel in the 1920s, was among its most sought-after trains from the pre-war era. The company said its popularity stems from the fact that it was one of the first model trains to come in "O Gauge," a three-rail track with a width of 1.25 inches.
