The Wii marks the highlight of Iwata's legacy.
Sure, Wii games started looking stale compared to Xbox and PlayStation. But Nintendo fans loved its radical, new approach to gaming.
Each person used two remote controls instead of one. The "Wiimote" also incorporated an accelerometer and optical sensor, letting games react to physical motion -- finally getting kids off the damn couch.
Nintendo sold 101.5 million of them, making the Wii among the most popular consoles of all time.
