Delivery Drones

amazon devices delivery drones

Year released: the future

Price: ???

Continuing his plans for e-commerce world domination via robo-army, in 2013 Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced plans for Prime Air -- the future of package delivery.

Prime Air would dispatch delivery drones, or "octocoptors," that can fly with a range of up to 10 miles and bring packages under five pounds (the vast majority of Amazon's packages) to customers in 30 minutes or less. With Federal Aviation Administration restrictions and questions about battery life, weather delays and even sharpshooters directing their target practice at the unmanned aerial vehicles, Prime Air certainly has its skeptics. Still, Bezos is optimistic that the drones could be ready for takeoff by the end of 2017.
