"The Big Five" on African safari

Seeing the "big five" -- elephants, rhinos, leopards, lions and buffalo -- has become one of the biggest draws for tourists on African safari. The term was originally coined by big game hunters to refer to animals that were hardest to corner and shoot, but it's now used by safari leaders as a measure of the most sought-after animals a group sees while out on a reserve.
