Ferrari created this car, one of six ever made, as a way of testing out a behind-the-driver mid-engine layout for its sports car and race cars. Ferrari's competitors were achieving great success with this sort of lay-out. This car is powered by a 2.6-liter V8 -- hence the 268 designation -- which was one of only four such engines Ferrari ever made.
