Privately-owned Bosch may be best known for home appliances and power tools, but its automotive technology unit is the firm's largest business. It supplies parts aimed at improving fuel efficiency and driver safety to a range of manufacturers.
Bosch is an innovation leader, spending over $6 billion on research and development last year and applying for nearly 4,800 patents worldwide.
