With a 5% stake in the company, DST Global is another institutional investor that owns a sizeable chunk of Twitter. Founded by Digital Sky Technologies CEO Yuri Milner, DST Global has snapped up large stakes in Internet companies based in both the United States and Milner's native Russia.
Milner's most famous bet is his $200 million investment in Facebook (FB) in May 2009. DST continued to invest in Facebook over the years, and its stake was worth roughly $3.9 billion at the time of Facebook's IPO.
