2014 was a bad year for Internet freedom advocates. The FCC then proposed a "fast lane" solution that would allow content companies to pay for faster service. Netflix kowtowed to Comcast and other broadband providers by paying to stream faster on their networks -- and the company raised prices by $1 as a result. Protesters took to Washington, and President Obama interjected by voicing opposition to fast lanes.
