When most people see this product, their first reaction is to swoon over how cute it is that a dog steps on a pedal to operate its own personal fountain of water. The second reaction is confusion over why someone wouldn't just use a water bowl.
Creator Tony Lytle invented the product after his daughter found her dog suffering from severe dehydration because the dog knocked over his water bowl. But how often does that actually happen?
The fountain has to be connected to a hose and is activated when the dog steps on it. This could work well outdoors when the product is connected to a garden hose and people may not want stagnant water bowls. But on the whole, this is a little silly.
