The Galaxy Gear watch is basically Samsung's attempt to put a smartphone on your wrist. It's not alone in the smartwatch business, but rivals like Google(GOOG), Pebble and Fitbit are taking a decidedly more cautious approach -- adding some smartphone-like features without going full Dick Tracy on us.
