The Galaxy Gear is basically Samsung's attempt to build a 21st century equivalent of the Dick Tracy watch.
It makes phone calls, takes photos, displays text messages and does your laundry. Who knew you needed all of that in a watch?
To be fair though, Samsung isn't the only one trying to cash in on the wearable craze. There's also the Pebble. And Apple was recently granted a patent for a smartwatch. But Samsung's may be too ambitious.
