So, you really want the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe, but its huge V8 engine is an affront to your eco-morality. Well, now you can have it, and you won't have to use one drop of gasoline.
Mercedes on Friday unveiled its stunning, gull winged roadster as a plug-in electric "SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive."
Pictured above in its signature color of "AMG Electricbeam Magno," it produces goose-bump-inducing acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Mercedes boasts that, using its Formula 1 expertise, it has built the world's fastest electric-powered production vehicle.
The car, which is loaded with new technology and features, has an approximate range of 155 miles on a single charge. Without the optional Mercedes wall box, a full charge will take 20 hours. With the box installed in an in-home garage, that charge-time is reduced to a mere three hours.
