Lamborghini to unveil 910 horsepower plug-in hybrid

To make room for the Asterion's battery pack, which uses space in the center of the car usually taken up by the transmission, the seven-speed transmission is located between the back wheels. Besides improving the car's weight balance, this also protects the battery pack from side impacts.

Lamborghini has a history of naming its cars for bulls, but this car uses one of the names given to the bullheaded minotaur of Greek mythology. That's because the part man, part bull Minotaur was a hybrid being kind of like the Asterion.
