Environmentally friendly cars are usually the big thing in California, but some performance models were unveiled this year, too.
The modern minvan has become too bloated, inefficient and overpriced, say Ford Motor Co. executives. So Ford is fighting back with the Transit Connect Wagon, a cheaper family van that's easier on gas.
This is a redesigned version of the small Transit Connect commercial van but this time there are comfortable backseats and family-friendly amenities.
Ford hasn't announced pricing yet, but promises it will be "thousands less" than competitors' vans. Official fuel economy numbers also aren't out yet, but figures it will better than 30 mpg on the highway.
