Ford is working to bring Lincoln back to the ranks of true luxury brands. A recent exhibit at the Los Angeles Auto Show demonstrates Lincoln's past glory.
The Zephyr was introduced in 1936 and became the first commecially successful car with modern aerodynamic design. It was named after the famous steamlined locomotive, the Burlington Zephyr. The split grill, originally meant to mimic the appearance of a boat breaking through water, appears on today's Lincoln models.
