General Motors reveals the most powerful base-model Corvette ever made. It's the most fuel-efficient, too.
The new Corvette Stingray has a computerized Driver Mode Selector. Using a knob near the gear shifter the driver can select from among five settings including "Weather," "Eco," and "Track." In addition to performance parameters, the car's computerized gauge cluster also changes to reflect the demands of the different driving styles.
The eight-inch touch screen in the center portion of the dashboard features touch control as well as "gesture recognition," a feature found in today's Cadillacs in which the screen displays control buttons when it senses a hand approaching close to it.
