Not all the cars at the annual gathering are decades old. Automakers are also out to attract new customers.
Cadillac is working on a new ultra-large flagship car. To that end, GM's (GM) luxury brand last year unveiled the boat-sized Ciel convertible at Pebble Beach. This year, the idea takes a giant step closer to a production model with the Elmiraj two-door hard-top car.
Over 17 feet in length, the Elmiraj is slightly longer than Cadillac's current big car, the four-door front--drive XTS. Besides being bigger, it's also more performance oriented. The Elmiraj is rear-wheel-drive, which makes for enjoyable handling, and it's got a 500 horsepower twin-turbo V8.
