The ELR actually does actually feel more fun to drive on a twisty road than the Volt. And the California roads I was on were really, really twisty. The car felt well balanced and secure and the steering provided good feel even when the low-rolling-resistance tires were beginning to squeal.
The ELR's Cadillac-specific suspension includes includes magnetically controlled shocks that can be adjusted to provide a firm-and-sporty or smooth-and-comfortable ride. The ELR's seats held me in place nicely in those hard turns but without making me feel like I was squeezed in a fine leather vice.
The one thing standing between the ELR and real performance coupe thrills is its weight. Even though the battery pack is nicely situated low and in the middle of the car, it's still heavy and you can feel that working against you.
