Consumer Reports calls the A6 "a joy to drive" crediting its supercharged V6 and smooth eight-speed transmission. The interior is also "impeccably finished" and filled with loads of hi-tech features. Even with all-wheel-drive, the gasoline-powered version got 22 mpg overall in Consumer Reports' tests. A diesel version got 28 mpg.
