The interior is certainly well put together and, in the car I tested, there was even a decent amount of actual leather. Not the nicest leather, maybe -- wallet-quality stuff -- but leather.
Too bad it doesn't look nicer. Overall, the inside of this car looks like it got scant attention from the design department. It does photograph well, let's give it that. But, when inside it, it's a mass of uninteresting flat surfaces with a few curves and some out-of-place chrome thrown in for interest.
Now, you might think it unfair to beat up a compact economy car over its interior but if competitors can pull off a really nice interior, why can't Toyota? You'd be surprised at how nice the interiors of many of the competing cars are.
