Yes, the Hummer H2 was big. Yes, a gas station fire could hardly burn through fuel much faster. But was it really that much worse than other big SUVs? Maybe not. It just looked mean. It looked like it was designed to drive over and crush things like trees, little birds and your petty concerns about the shrinking polar ice caps.
Like or not -- and a lot of folks didn't -- this was a vehicle that made a statement.
