This is, quite possibly, the most insane car I have ever driven. It's a 1978 Corvette powered by an 880-horsepower Pratt & Whitney jet turbine engine. The powerful turbine, originally designed to power an electrical generator, was put into this car by Vince Granatelli whose father, Andy, had run a racing team that put turbine-powered Lotus race cars on the track in the 1960s. The turbine doesn't push the car with its exhaust fumes but, instead, spins a crankshaft that drives the car very, very fast.
